What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is a science of life (Ayur = life,Veda = science or knowledge), a 5,000-year-old system of natural healing that has its origins in the Vedic culture of India. It offers a body of wisdom designed to help people stay vital while realizing their full human potential.
Ayurvedic doctors regard physical existence, mental existence, and personality as their own units, with each element being able to influence the others. This is a holistic approach used during diagnosis and therapy, and is a fundamental aspect of Ayurveda. Another part of Ayurvedic treatment says that there are channels (srotas) which transport fluids, and that the channels can be opened up by massage treatment using oils and Swedana (fomentation). Unhealthy, or blocked, channels are thought to cause disease.

Ayurvedic Consultation is the starting point for comprehensive constitutional analysis to determine body type, support health through diet and lifestyle counseling, address imbalances and make recommendations to facilitate wellness. Follow-up Consultation is a dialogue regarding status, collection of data for assessment, modification of care plan.
Ayurvedic Health Assessment
Duration: Included in the initial consultation
The Ayurvedic Health Assessment is a general overview of history, status, constitutional analysis, and recommendations.
Diet & Lifestyle Counseling
Duration: 30 minutes
Explanation and review of recommendations, care plan, and commitment agreement.
Detoxification & Rejuvenation Program
Duration: Sampler and Programs available
Pancha Karma means “five actions”. It is a highly personalized detoxification and rejuvenation process used to clean the body of toxic materials left by poor nutrition and imbalances in one’s constitutional nature. Ayurveda’s most powerful healing treatment therapy, Pancha Karma restores the body’s innate healing ability and strengthens the immune system.

Pancha Karma Therapy
Begins with an initial consultation to determine the body type of the individual, the nature of any imbalance, and degree of intensity appropriate for the care plan. The care plan includes a preparatory regime for a time before the series, as well as support practices, and post-treatment recommendations.
Each day the client will receive a consultation, three or more bodywork treatment therapies, and provided an Ayurvedic meal and herbal tea based on their needs.
Private Yoga Instruction
Including breathwork, meditation techniques, and postures, is available and highly encouraged in order to deepen one’s experience and enhance the healing benefits of the entire series.
